YouTube 總部發生槍擊案，事發在當地時間中午，一名女子突然在 YouTube 加州 San Bruno 總部向員工開槍，員工四處逃跑，情況混亂，警方後來到場搜索之下，發現 4 人受槍傷，全部送到醫院救治，而在 YouTube 總部內亦發現一名女性死者，相信是襲擊 YouTube 總部的女性槍手，警方懷疑她向員工開槍後自轟身亡。
事發後 YouTube 總部內 1700 員工全部在警方安排下有秩序離開，有影片看到員工們在離開時全部雙手舉高以表清白，而警方繼續搜索辦公室，看看有沒有其他槍手和線索。Google 在 San Bruno 的辦事處亦開放作為 YouTube 員工的避離所。
YouTube 母公司 Google 的 CEO Sundar Pichai 對這次在美西時間中午發生的槍擊案感到悲痛，並願意協助傷者渡過難關。
